This jersey proudly wears the Pierce head badge which is both an icon of cycling innovation and dependability as embodied in the motto “Tried and True.” The George N. Pierce Company produced its first bicycle catalog in 1891. The company developed the cushion frame, coaster brake, a chainless design, and the spring fork for a smoother ride on rough cobbled streets. The company split in 1906, the Pierce Cycle Company was formed, and the nameplate changed accordingly. The company dissolved in 1918, but its assets were purchased by the Emblem Manufacturing Co., and the head badge was again changed to reflect a new location in Angola, NY. Emblem produced bikes under the Pierce name until 1940.
