Our jersey features a beautiful five-pointed blue star on a field of yellow and gold with the iconic North Coast Brewery whale on the back. Some have said that the blue star reminds them of the Service Flag, or Blue Star Flag, which was designed by WWI Army Captain Robert L. Queisser, who had two sons serving on the front line. The flag quickly became the unofficial symbol of a child in service. Brewed in the style of the American Craft Beer renaissance, Blue Star is unfiltered, the yeast adding a complex note to the flavor profile.
I had low expectations as this was a clearance item when I purchased it. I expected some light manufacturing flaws and a more faded design.
I was way off and couldn't have been happier.
The package arrived very quickly and the jersey arrived in MINT condition, SEALED in plastic. I am 5'7" and weigh 190lbs - I purchased the XL one as it was 1 size above my dimensions on their sizing chart [which Retro Image recommends]. This is my first purchase from Retro Image Apparel 2. I was attracted to this jersey because of the really strong graphics. The material and crisp colors reflect quality workmanship in a jersey that fits well. Based on my chest size, I ordered the X-large and it is form fitting but not too tight and has a nice overall tapered appearance. The gold color is pleasing and I love the whale on the back.
