This jersey displays the Perfection Cycle Company Head Badge. While many strive for perfection, few if any achieve it. Hopefully, we have come close with this iconic design. Very little information is available on this company. The company was formed on August 1, 1947, and was located in the 5400 block of Gravois, but no longer exists. It is not clear if the company manufactured bicycles or only sold them.
The jersey is comfortable and looks great. I like the uniqueness of the design, though the print along the edges of the front oval logo is a little faded or distressed looking. I am assuming that is the look they were going for, although I think a crisper print might be better. Regardless, it still looks great, and it was refreshing to find a jersey representing St. Louis at a great price. In traditional American sizes, I wear a medium, though these jerseys run a bit small, so I would recommend ordering a size up (I ended up getting a large).
The customer service at Retro2Ride is fantastic. When I purchased my order, I discovered that the size I bought was too small for me. I contacted Retro2Ride and asked if I could stop by to exchange my jersey for a larger size. They responded quickly and said it wouldn't be an issue. I stopped by and the gentlemen I spoke to was friendly and professional. He allowed me to try on several sizes to find the best fit and gave me a coupon for my next transaction.
